The British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI)
runs the WorldSkills UK Landscape Gardening Competition, on behalf
of WorldSkills UK, which is part of a set of over 70 UK wide skills
competitions ranging from landscape gardening to hairdressing,
electronics and welding; all of which are designed by industry
experts.
The competitions are a great way to build skill
development and real life experience into a supported competition
environment. Students of any age, working towards qualifications in
their relevant sector, are invited to enter.
Every year the landscape gardening competition attracts,
on average, 40 competitors from Colleges and the industry. For more
information about the competition click here.
This year, for the first time, a regional heat will be
held at BALI - The 2012 Landscape Show, which runs at Stoneleigh
Park on 19th and 20th June.
"This is a great opportunity for students to attend a
trade event specifically designed for the landscape industry. The
competition day lasts around 6 hours leaving some free time to
visit all the stands, watch product demonstrations,
attend seminars and network with peers," commented Wayne Grills,
ceo of BALI.
